About
I am a figure skating coach, creative maker, and children’s author from Chestermere, Alberta. My work blends movement, imagination, and childhood joy — whether I am teaching skating, crafting handmade bows, or writing stories that inspire young readers.
Hi, I'm Caitlin.
Children’s Author • Professional Skating Coach • Creative Entrepreneur
I’m a children’s author and professional skating coach based in Chestermere, Alberta. For 18 years, I’ve had the privilege of helping children build confidence, learn new skills and discover a love of being on the ice.
Today, my work brings together the things I love most — skating, storytelling and creating experiences that encourage children to try something new.
From The Ice To the Page
After spending most of my life on the ice as a skater and coach, I brought that world into my first children’s book, When I Become an Ice Skater.
Inspired by the children I’ve coached and my own experiences as a mom, the story introduces young readers to figure skating, hockey, ringette, speed skating and more — celebrating all the different ways children can belong on the ice.
Coach Caitlin
I’ve been coaching skating for 18 years and work with skaters of all ages and abilities — from first steps on the ice to figure skating, hockey and ringette development.
Through Chestermere Skating School, I offer small-group and private instruction with an emphasis on strong skating fundamentals, confidence, safety and making learning fun.

A Little More About Me
When I’m not at the rink or working on a book, you’ll usually find me creating something, spending time with my family or dreaming up my next project. I also create handmade accessories and other fun finds through Miss May.
At the heart of everything I do is a love of helping children learn, grow, build confidence and discover what they love.
